I have been trying to start embroidery and craft classes from a really long time, but didnt get much response. With this I am starting a series of classes for beginners which includes the basic embroidery. For intermediates, I will keep updating the blog with my new crafts and designs..There will be a virtual class every week at wildwings.wordpress.com.

To start here are the basic materials needed:

Fabric : Size, type and color based on personal preference. My suggestion is to start with a cotton cloth.

Needles: The needle to be used varies with the type of fabric and embroidery work. For more details click here.

Pav Bhaji – Recipe

Many people are visiting my profile for Pav Bhaji, so I thought I will post the recipe.

Here it is…

Ingredients:

For Bhaji:

Cumin Seeds/Jeera/Jeelakarra: 1 tsp
Green Chilli: 2 or 3 depending on the spice level
Ginger-garlic paste : 1/2 tbsp
Onions : 1 large one finely chopped
Capsicum : 1 large one finely chopped
Tomato : 2 Medium ones finely chopped
Potatoes : 3
Carrot : 1-2
Green Peas : 1 Small Cup
Pav Bhaji Masala
Salt to taste
Oil
Coriander : For garnishing

For Pav:

I use either dinner rolls or hamburger buns, if I dont find Pav.

Method:

1.Boil the potatoes, carrots and green peas together in a pressure cooker and smash them.
2.Grind the ginger-garlic paste and green chilli together.
3.In a pan, heat little oil and fry the jeera. Add the ground paste and saute it a little.
4.Add the finely chopped onions and fry until they become little brown.
5.Now add the capsicum and keep it covered until its cooked. Keep stirring in between
6.After the capsicum is cooked, add the tomato pieces and a little water. Keep it on low flame until it becomes little thick.
7. Add Pavbhaji masala and little chilli powder if needed.
8. Finally add the boiled vegetables and simmer it for sometime. Add the chopped coriander
9. Slight toast the pav with butter and serve while hot.

One of the beautiful keerthanas in the praise of Lord Vishnu by Annamacharya. Though I learned classical music, I never learned keerthanas. I learnt this one from my sister. Love this one so much that I listen to it every day. Here are the lyrics in telugu:

Parachute Ride..

This weekend I went for a parachute ride. I held on to the ropes in trepidation. As I was dropping, I saw the ground, and trees far far beneath me. I struggled with the ropes to turn left, turn right, just hoping to land on my target safely, and go home.

But alas, I fell 19 meters away. Here’s to an almost perfect parachute ride, from which I escaped unscathed.

Fooled you, didn’t I? Oh well, better safe and sound in a museum than falling from the sky into water 19 meters away from land
